His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, held high-level discussions with the President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Mr. Witold Bańka, at State House, Nairobi, as part of ongoing engagements to strengthen Kenya’s commitment to clean, fair and credible sport.

The meeting provided an opportunity to further discuss Kenya’s anti-doping efforts, including the measures being undertaken to strengthen the country’s anti-doping program and safeguard the integrity of sport. The engagement underscored the importance of continued collaboration between the Government of Kenya, WADA, the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) and other stakeholders in addressing doping-related challenges.

Kenya has continued to invest in strengthening its national anti-doping framework through enhanced testing, intelligence-led investigations, athlete education, stakeholder sensitization and public awareness initiatives. These efforts are aimed at protecting clean athletes, promoting fairness and ensuring that Kenyan athletes compete in an environment where integrity and equal opportunity are upheld.
The discussions also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting measures that enhance Kenya’s compliance with international anti-doping standards and strengthen the capacity of institutions responsible for protecting clean sport. The engagement with WADA reflects Kenya’s recognition that the fight against doping requires sustained cooperation, accountability and collective action across government, sport and the wider community.

The WADA President’s visit to Kenya provided an important platform for high-level dialogue on the future of clean sport in the country. It also reinforced the shared responsibility of Kenya and the global anti-doping community to protect athletes and preserve public confidence in the integrity of sport.
Kenya remains committed to working with WADA, ADAK, national sports federations, athletes, coaches, medical personnel, law enforcement agencies and other partners to strengthen the national anti-doping programme. Through these collective efforts, Kenya continues to pursue a sporting environment where athletes can compete clean, fairly and with confidence.
