






The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) Board of Directors held a strategic courtesy meeting on 14 th April 2026 with H.E. Salim Mvurya, EGH, Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, alongside the Sports Principal Secretary, Elijah Mwangi, CBS, at the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports headquarters, Talanta Plaza.
The engagement convened the ADAK Board led by Chairperson Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Aphaxard Muthuri Kiugu together with Board Members: David Kipketer, Mohamed Mraja, Peter Omingo, Joseph Maina Njogu, Carol Amondi, and Ag. Chief Executive Officer Peninah Wahome to formally introduce the Board and strengthen institutional collaboration with the Ministry. Also in attendance was Nuh M. Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of the Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund.
The deliberations focused on:
- Providing a comprehensive update on Kenya’s anti-doping programme,
including progress achieved, emerging challenges, and priority areas for
intervention - Strengthening policy, operational, and institutional frameworks to support
clean sport - Identifying critical Government support mechanisms to enhance compliance
with international anti-doping standards - Reinforcing strategic alignment between the Ministry and ADAK in
safeguarding the integrity of sport.
The meeting reaffirmed the Government’s and ADAK’s shared commitment to the protection of athletes, the promotion of fair play, and the continued positioning of Kenya as a global leader in clean sport.
