ADAK has successfully convened a strategic engagement retreat with the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture in Mombasa County, reaffirming a shared commitment to strengthening Kenya’s anti-doping framework ahead of the implementation of the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code.
The retreat provided an important platform to discuss ADAK’s mandate, strategic priorities, key achievements, and the ongoing review of the National Anti-Doping Policy, the Anti-Doping Act, 2016, and the ADAK Anti-Doping Rules to ensure full alignment with the World Anti-Doping Code effective 1 January 2027.
Present during retreat was the Chairperson of the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture, Hon. Dan Wanyama, MP Webuye West, ADAK Board Chairman, Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) Aphaxard Muthuri Kiugu, and ADAK Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ms.Peninah Wahome. The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports was represented by Secretary of Administration Mr. Evans Achoki, underscoring the Government’s continued support for clean sport.Together, we continue to build stronger institutions, sound legislation, and collaborative partnerships that safeguard the rights of athletes and promote fair, clean, and doping-free sport.
